Our 12-year-old pleaded with my husband and me to get him the new Xbox. Despite both of us being unemployed at the time, we assured him we would try to have it by Christmas. The Xbox, along with the PlayStation 5, was so highly sought after that it was hard to come by. Even the wealthiest individuals had difficulty obtaining one. I searched every website and store, and whenever they were available, they sold out in minutes. However, I was determined to find one for my child without resorting to paying inflated prices from third-party sellers. Eventually, I was fortunate to find one on Walmart.com. Thank goodness! My son knew there was a chance he might not get one due to the high demand, which made him sad. But you should have seen his face when we surprised him on Christmas morning! It filled me with joy to see his smile!
Four months later, my son surprised me with a new request. He wanted to trade his Xbox for a PlayStation 5, explaining that all his friends have one and he can't play certain games with them online using his Xbox. I immediately felt unappreciated, questioning if he remembered everything we went through to get it and the sacrifices made. Just like that, he seemed to have forgotten.
In that moment, I reflected on how often I might have saddened my Heavenly Father. He has guided me so far and has ALWAYS provided for me! Yet, there have been numerous times when I wished for more. I never meant to be ungrateful... But I was. The Lord knows I’m grateful for the difficult times in my life and the many instances he said “No." I had to learn to be content and appreciative. Lord, I repent.

Like I told my son, I encourage you to think back over your life today. Thank God for what He has done. Ask him to help you have a grateful heart. Ask him to teach you how to be content. He is faithful to do it!

Verse of Meditation: Philippians 4:11-13 (KJV)
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me
Salvation
If you wish to deepen your relationship with God and seek a closer relationship with Him, today is the perfect opportunity. If you are uncertain about your eternal destiny and whether you will join Him in Heaven after death, please recite the following prayer aloud:
Lord, I invite you to come into my life. I will make you Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe You died on the cross for my sins, and three days later, you got up with all power in your hands. Wash and cleanse me from all my sins and make me whole before you today. I renounce my past and look forward to my future in You. Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit as only you can. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray.
If you said the above prayer by faith, you are saved, my friend. I encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions about your salvation or would like to connect with a faith-based church.
